Cheryl,

You need to wait a long time for that update if it is happening. You also
need to properly shutdown windows and restart it I think. Is this I can't
remember, a new copy of xpsp2?

Subject: Having problems getting windows xp running in fusion

Everything looked pretty straightforward; of course i picked easy install.
However, I kept getting a message in the window all the way through saying
vmware tools wasn't installed but I thought this was done automatically
after installing the system. I also had trouble telling when the install
from the cd was done; just when I thought it should be finished I'd hear the
cdrom rev up again; there was no change in the window to tell me it was done
though in the menus it appeared the virtual machine had powered on. I
couldn't seem to do anything either with my bluetooth keyboard or my usb
keyboard to bring up narrator; nputting in the windoweyes cd made the cdrom
drive start up but nothing else heppened even when I tried to figure out the
command to get to the path for the setup. I can read the window with menu
items like j"sound" and cd/dvd an other things in the window with vo and of
course I can read the fusion menus with vo but I don't think anything i'm
doing with the keyboard is activating anything within Windows itself. I must
be missing some steps here but from what I can find in the "getting started"
guide, I don't know what I'm missing. Oh, when I went into the menus and
tried to update vmware tools (it said update rather than install in the
menus) nothing happened and when I'd go back to the menus the item would be
changed to "cancel install of vmware tools" so obviously my attempt was
recognized but no resulting update occurred.
