Hi Keith,
When copying from a DVD or other source, you should be in itunes
first then use the Add to Library item under the file menu. this
will add the music to your itunes Library as well as copying the
music to your itunes folder. this is, of course, assuming that
you've got itunes set to automatically copy items in the itunes
preferences. FYI, itunes will ignore items you manually copy into
folders unless you use the Add to Library item.
