Speaking of Voiceover in other languages, do you know if it's
possable to fully change VO into another language?
A.R. Yes, I use VoiceOver in French as well as English. I have two
users on my MacBook, one in English and the other in French. The
localisation of VoiceOver into French is almost as good as English but
the braille is not localised. I set the braille to Uncontracted which
makes it manageable.
It looks as though the localisation into Danish of VoiceOver is very
patchy. However, you might like to look at it and report back to Apple.
S.J. I'm corrently running TTiger, and I can't find any ways to change
the language of VO.
A.R. Oh, sorry. You need Leopard to get the localisation into other
languages.
S.J. Do Apple update Voiceover with bugs and changes, or are they
only updateing Voiceover when they release a new version of the OSX?
A.R. When it comes to issues with other languages, we had nothing but
English before Leopard. It's possible to do your own basic
localisation using the Pronunciation tab in the VoiceOver Utility, but
VoiceOver will not recognise any keyboard layout other than the
English language ones. In Leopard, VoiceOver recognises other keyboard
layouts.
Cheers,
Anne
