Got Hand Break, so now off to buy Quick Time Pro. I didn't know the
benefits of upgrading to the Pro version. What other things do you use
QT Pro for?

Though I've not done it personally, apparently you can use Handbrake
to rip a DVD, and then extract the audio from the video files it
creates with QuickTime Pro. QuickTime Pro can be had for $30, and
Handbrake is free. Handbrake is linked from the software section of www.Lioncourt.com

Thanks Josh, I was looking for something that does this. Now if I
can find a way to strip the audio from a DVD it would be great.

Hey all,
I've not seen this program mentioned on the list before, but I
thought I'd share. It's a wonderful piece of freeware and works
great with VO. If you want a way to get video files onto a DVD in
the format that standard DVD players can play, along with a simple
menu, this is what you'll want. It even converts a variety of
video files to the appropriate format for DVD automatically. It's
called SmallDVD, and the link is:

I've used it to make a couple of DVD's and it works brilliantly.
I do recommend checking the box to show Terminal, so that you can
watch the progress of the encodes, as it takes a long time, like
all video encoding tends to.
