you might need to commmand tab out and back but beyond that, I'm not sure, you could try changing the view from window to page or from page to window.

First off, am I doing anything wrong by simply typing the text in the find field and pressing return?... I know this is a VO thing, as I tried the plain Text Edit search function with command F and it found the word immediately. So I'm wondering what's up with the VO search?...
