Hi Jed,

JB: any good way to highlight lines of text? I do the vo enter and it says select, then i hit vo down arrow, and each time i do it it makes a swish sound.

I tried to copy it in to the clipboard, but it just went ding. What did i do wrong?

TK Instead of using VO-enter to begin the select, how about trying some of these:

• shift-down arrow: highlights from the cursor point to the same point on the next line if the next line has something that far.
• shift-up arrow: same as shift-down arrow but the opposite direction.
• shift right arrow: highlights one character at a time to the right.
• shift-left arrow: same as above except in the opposite direction.
• shift-option-right arrow: highlights one word at a time.
• shift-option-left arrow: same as above except to the left.
• shift-cmd-right arrow: highlights from the cursor to the end of the line. • shift-cmd-left arrow: highlights from the cursor position to the beginning of the line. • shift-cmd-down arrow: highlights from the cursor point to the end of the document or text area. • shift-cmd-up arrow: highlights from the corsor position to the top of the document or text area.

These will work in TextEdit, Mail or any other word processing app as they are macintosh things not VO things.

You will need to use the VO-enter (toggle on select mode),navigate wherever then VO-enter (toggle off select mode) then copy in Safari on web-pages though.
