and if you set the root as a sharepoint, it shares the rest of the drive. 
another thing you might do is set the drive to all read/write in get info.

Hi Lewis,
    You might have to make the folders you want to view share points.
At least, this is what I had to do to get it all to work.  This can be
found in the sharing dialog of system preferences when you turn file
sharing on.
