For some reason, the VO fn shift left and right arrow commands
doesn't work on my Mac book. I'm wandering why. Do you think it's
because I use a danish keyboard layout? The VO and shift keys are at
the same place as the english keyboard.. When I press VO shift fn
left or right arrow, the VO cursor just moves as it does if I just
press VO and the arrow keys. If I turn on the VO keyboard help and
press the command, VO says: "Moving Voiceover cursor to first item
in group."
For some weird reason, control left and right arrows moves the
cursor to the beginning and the end of the line.
A.R. It sounds to me as though you're not interacting with the text.
Control-Left arrow does move the text pointer to the beginning of the
line, and Control-Right arrow moves it to the end, just as Option-Left
arrow moves one word to the left and Option-Right arrow moves one word
to the right. These commands without the VO-keys are standard Mac
commands.
You can also use Command-Up arrow to go to the beginning of a document
and Command-Down arrow to go to the end. Using the Shift key with
these commands highlights the relevant portion of text.
By the way, does the Danish layout give you trouble with any other
commands? The French layout makes it impossible to use the Sort
command (VO-Vertical Line), as the Vertical line character is Option-l.
Cheers,
Anne
