Hi all,

Disc utility reports failure of my powerbook titanium hd. It still runs the
os and I can even install the os on it in all thre ways but often, it does
not boot and the only cure seems to be reinstalling the os. This is a well
worn system so I don't have any regrets but am wondering if I should replace
the hd or if It would be best just to scrap the system. I also have a
thought that I'd be willing to find it a good home if someone is in need of
or has a desire for one. I don't see any other hardware issues with it and
the drive would need to be replaced in any event but if you want it and want
to replace the drive, I'll ship free. It comes with backpack, extra
battery, vga adaptor, phone cord, ethernet cable, charger all original
documentation, media and I'll throw in outspoken and enlarge but would be
happy to keep it if I can replace the hard drive fairly simply.

I checked the Apple site and turned up nada. I will give the store a call
later today and see what they say. Unfortunately, the apple care plan is
long expired and I don't know if one could even be obtained.

Thoughts are welcomed.

P.S. Remember, this is not an intel system. the specs are 867ghz processor,
1gb ram and a 30g hd. the formfactor is 15 inch display.
