Because you have the option of using the numpad commander or not. Come on guys, it's really not the end of the world. If you need the keypad that bad, you can always purchase one. Surely it's easier to use an external keypad in any event. Gee, I must be so old-school, I rarely have used the numpad commander. grin Maybe I'm missing something and need to try it out.

the fn key is still there.  what is gone is the embedded num pad.

I just heard a rumor that in the newer macbooks that were released this year, Apple took out the function key modifier? Somehow I can't believe this. Can someone please tell me whether or not this is true? I seriously
