Pasting items in list view

Hi folks,

Could someone please advise me on how to paste items in the list view  
of a finder window? I have found that this view is more VO friendly,  
although I wish VO would stop saying "row" before it announces what  
the file is.

As I say I am having real trouble pasting files into folders in this  
view.
