Two sides to a story, but the one you gave indicated that Text Edit is a Word Processor and it isn't. In the old days when you needed to write down something you would use a note pad and when you would write a book you would use a type writer. Quick note taking with limited or no formatting or word processing for more functionality.

Yes, it fits most peoples uses but no it isn't a word processor. There
is a big difference between a note taker a text editor and a word
processor. When the guy from Apple said their wasn't a word processor
in the Mac OS, he wasn't lieing.

Uh, Text Edit isn't a word processer? It sure is, beats notepad at
least. Or something. Well it suits me just fine, I don't need that
tuaoformating crap.

Hi All,

I just got a message telling me that someone went to an apple
store to look
at Macs and when they asked if the mac came with a word processor,
the sales
person said no.
