What d'yah mean it shouldn't be nessary to have fusion running? It
should be absolutely essential to have fusion running. Unless you are
using paralells or bootcamp, but you have to have a boot loader that
supports the operating system you run, and that means one of the three.
Also, did you make sure you had the right instalation media for the
platform you are running on? You can't run 64-bit ubuntu on 32 bit
machines for example, and it may or may not be supported with fusion
on 64 bit platforms. You have to check the fusion documentation to
find out for sure. The same goes if you're trying to run ubuntu 32
bit i386 on a mac that doesn't have an intel processer with i386
platform.
