Hello David,

Yes, you can start from a particular point and read to the end of a web page. It's easiest if you have all your cursors tracking one another:

• Find the point from which you wish to start (it must not be a link);
• Click 3 times with the physical mouse;
• Move to end (VO-Shift-End), it must not be a link;
• Hold down Shift key and click with the physical mouse:
• Use the Start Speaking Text command.

It's quite quick to do when you get used to it, but it's best to have set a shortcut for Start Speaking Text.

Cheers,

Anne

Subject: Reading a whole web page

Hello James,

To read a whole web page, position yourself on HTML CONTENT WITHOUT
INTERACTING AND PRESS COMMAND-A TO SELECT ALL; GO TO THE SAFARI MENUS,
PRESS S FOR SERVICES, GO RIGHT TO THE SUBMENU AND PRESS SP FOR SPEECH
AND PRESS RETURN ON START SPEAKING TEXT.

YOU CAN SET A SHORTCUT FOR THIS IN SYSTEM PREFERENCES UNDER KEYBOARD &
MOUSE.

ONCE YOU HAVE READ A WEB PAGE, YOU CAN GET QUICKLY TO THE PART YOU
WANT BY USING EITHER THE LINK CHOOSER MENU (VO-U), OR THE ITEM CHOOSER
MENU (VO-I). JUMPING FROM ONE HEADING TO THE NEXT WITH VO-COMMAND-H
CAN ALSO BE VERY USEFUL.

HTH

ANNE

I think it is reading the first screenful of text. I do wish there
was a say all on the web, yes I know we can stop interacting and
read with VO A, but that reads from the top.
