interesting problem with Open Office Beta

Hi folks,
I have coe acros one slight problem with OE beta. when I pres the up  
or down arrows, vo wil not read as they will if I press them in Nisus  
or Text Edit etc. Is this something that anyone else has noticed or  
will i need to use Vo keys with arrow key?
