Also does anyone know why the beta of Open office should crash when I
try to create footnotes. I know Shane Jackson got around this somehow
but it has crashed every time I've tried to do this.
Any hlep would be gretly appreciated

that's correct. The text area is not made in the same way as in Text
edit. It's a bit difficult to read documents. I don't know how to
explain the problem. If someone can explain to Openoffice.org how
they can make this more accessible it would be great.
