The pronunciation editor comes with a few emoticons defined, including
:-)  smiley
;-)  wink
and some examples like:
802.11g  8 oh 2 eleven g

Yes, you can have phrases defined,  It's a good way to deal with foreign
expressions in English if you don't have the Acapela InfoVox/iVox voices in
other languages.  (But it's much better to get these voices if you want to
switch to another language.) You can sample the voices at:
