Dear Listers,
I have share with you before how much I've enjoyed my Macbook. I am
still having to use Jaws and windows xp to an extent in order to be
able to use the languages I need to study or work in.
My other Windows desktop computer has just died on me. Whilst I have
lost some latest material, I am now confronted with a possibility of
getting another computer as backup and a kind of server at home, and
of course it will have to a Mac.
Listers, I wasn't expecting to have to find money at this stage to buy
another Mac although I was planing to do this next year. I therefore
thought I'd ask your opinion regarding what Mac mini has to offer. My
old display is a LCD flat screen, still very good, I loathe throwing
it away. I will however want to continue running Jaws on Windows using
bootcamp or Fusion so I need enough power to do so. My primary
operating system though is certainly going to be Mac os.
What are your thoughts on the power of Mac mini, its ability to run
both windows and Mac and its capacity to cope with partitions? What
are the drawbacks and such like?
Has Mac mini got a CD/DVD driver? I don't wish to clutter the list so
maybe somebody would be happy to discuss these options outside the list.
Maybe I should et an Imac or another Macbook. I would welcome your
views. Since I have decided to buy another Mac, I want to make sure it
is going to be powerful enough for a few years to come.
Thanks in advance.
