Actually there is one more difference between the two minis, the more
expensive one will burn cds and dvds, where as the cheaper one will not burn
dvds, though it will read them. I'm enjoying my mini, and most of the time,
I don't even have it connected to a screen.

Think of the mac mini as the iMac without the screen. if you need the
screen then get an iMac, however it will cost you at least 1200, as where
a mac mini which I just recdntly bought will cost you 600. However, the
only comes to 689.88 if you are only buying a mac mini plus a keyboard,
the kb is 50. This is assuming you have a screen already that you have at
home that you'd like to use. Actually there are 2 moddles of the mac
mini, the 600 one and the 800 one. The only difference is the hard drive
space and the processor. For that simple upgrade it is not worth the 200
extra imho. The mac mini already comes with a vga adapter to fit any pc
styled plug. I'm sure you know that a screen alone is at least 900 and go
from there. The mac mini certainly has enough power to run what I need it
to and it already comes preloaded with bootcamp, so I'm sure it can run
it just fine. Personally I'd never spoil this mac with any windows
related installs..
I don't like how the mac mini doesn't come with a keyboard or mouse. I
had to buy a kb separate which made the total price, including tax, come
to 689.88 exactly. I would say that the 599 mac mini is definitely the
way to go, unless you really want to push your limits and pay 2400 and
get a 2.4 ghz imac with 4 gigs of ram and a 250 gig hard drive. It
ultimately depends on what you'll be using it for. I say the mac mini is
a great choice. I'm saving up to get a macbook for portability and for
stability Now that I've used my mac for pretty much everything, I
wouldn't put a pc, laptop or desktop, over a mac of any kind, any day. I
don't care if it is the most top of the line pc, macs imho are still the
best and better in quality.
btw just as an fyi, the black macbooks are actually better than the white
ones. Supposedly they are built more stable and they are just more
reliable don't ask, but they just are. The prices are even different,
even if they have the same hardware. I'm going to get a black one, if
possible.

Maybe I should et an Imac or another Macbook. I would welcome your
views. Since I have decided to buy another Mac, I want to make sure it
is going to be powerful enough for a few years to come.
