Dear Simon,
What applicationsa re you using? So high impact applications use more
processing power. Also, I've found that because I leave my MacBook
running almost constantly, sometimes the fan doe run louder.
But maybe others on this list can offer you a more satisfactory answer.

I'm a bit worried something is going wrong, and of course, I loved
the fact my Macbook was so incredibly quiet. Mind you, it is still
quiet by any standards.
