Mine was bought in February of 2008 from apple direct USA. I know,
cause I bought it from the company I work for. So, that's mighty
strange. I've also done all the opperating system updates and even a
firmware update since I got the thing.

TK: IN AND AROUND NOVEMBER OF 2007, APPLE CHANGED THE KEYBOARD
LAYOUT ON THE MACBOOKS SO THAT F11 AND F12 PERFORMED THE VOLUME
FUNCTIONS. IF YOUR MACBOOK WAS PURCHASED PRIOR TO THIS TIME, THEN
THE VOLUME FUNCTIONS WERE MANAGED THROUGH F4 AND F5.
