Hi, The spec is intel core 2 duo 2.4 ghz 2 gb ram expandable to four,
160 gb sata drive, 15 inch monitor, os 10.5.2.
I have nothing to compair with. The only other macbook I ever used
was os tiger and while it was a very nice piece of hardware, I wasn't
there to play and had very little notion what to do with the thing.

Out of curiosity, what processor speed did you get?… Is it the
newer hardware config but with the older keyboard style?…

Hi Erik,
You said: Mine was bought in February of 2008 from apple direct
USA. I know, cause I bought it from the company I work for. So,
that's mighty strange. I've also done all the opperating system
updates and even a firmware update since I got the thing.
TK: Very interesting indeed. You must have got one from the
wrong pile. I did actually have that happen here as well. I
purchased a MacBook for our school Yearbook in January, and when
it arrived, it had Tiger on it and had the old configuration of fn
keys. Software and firmware updates would not change anything as
it's actually a hardware configuration change.

HI ERIK,
YOU WROTE: Hmmmmm. On my macbook, fn f11 does nothing, and
fn f12 does something mighty strange but it doesn't bring up
the volume.
On mine fn f4 and fn f5 do do the volume. I just tried it
because the volume on my macbook is a source of minor
irritation to me and I thought f11 and f12 might be a fix.
TK: IN AND AROUND NOVEMBER OF 2007, APPLE CHANGED THE KEYBOARD
LAYOUT ON THE MACBOOKS SO THAT F11 AND F12 PERFORMED THE VOLUME
FUNCTIONS. IF YOUR MACBOOK WAS PURCHASED PRIOR TO THIS TIME,
THEN THE VOLUME FUNCTIONS WERE MANAGED THROUGH F4 AND F5.
