Others may know more on this, but it seems to me that because
ITunes isn't a fully fledged browser as such, but is still able to
visually show a webpage, (I.E. the ITunes store) that VO access is no
trivial task. In essence, I'm betting it comes down to the point that
while the webpage can be shown in ITunes, ITunes itself doesn't
actually access the page coding enough to allow VO to access the
elements on the page.
As I said, others may know more about this, but it seems like this
may be the case? yes?…

Cara :)

I agree with you.
I did bring this to an apple agents attention when I was calling
about another issue and was told that apple would "look into it"
This was in June, and appparently nothing has been resolved as of now.
It is very frustrating not being able to set up an itunes account
indipendently, and I don't understand why this can't be made
accessible.

Olivia,
I too have been very satisfied with Apple's support for the most
part, however, they really do need to address this issue once and
forall. That iTunes dialog is not accessible, has never been
accessible and they've got to be aware of it by now. Honestly, I
think we should all write to [EMAIL PROTECTED] as even if
they were willing to help, that dialog should be fundamentally made
accessible. After all, wouldn't we be more apt to purchase music
from the iTunes store were we able to independently get it set up?

I was surprised to read about this.
I have dealt with apple for various things over the last couple of
months and have found them to be extremely helpful and responsive.
They are one of the few companies who don't freak out when they
hear I'm blind and using a screen reader and tell me to get sighted
help. Instead, every apple agent I have spoken with has been
responsive and helpful, sometimes even going so far as attempting
to replicate the problems I was having using voiceover.

Well, we're actually doing that too, David.

I can tell you for a fact that this is not what apple is about.
They have
committed to acessibility and because one person says this or
that does
not
make it so. What you should do is take this to apple corporate.
