Hello,
A work-around may actually be Bento from FileMaker. Download a demo
from VersionTracker and see if it is easier for you to create new
entries. The Bento software actually does modify the database used by
AddressBook, so this may be the best solution. If you add custom
fields, beware that they may not translate to the AddressBook
database. Very cool software though, and quite easy to navigate.
One issue, creating your own forms. You may need sighted assistance
for this. However, this is a one time thing hopefully, and you only
make form changes if you need to add a field like a pup-up or check box.

other VoiceOver users know when or if we can expect Address Book to
be truly usable?
