Hi Tiffany,

The only thing I can think of that would disable the Command key is
if you have Mouse Keys turned on and have also activated NumPad
Commander in the VoiceOver Menu of a laptop. That combination
will disable the Command key on an Intel MacBook or MacBook Pro
without a numlock function on the F6 key (i.e., on MacBook models
manufactured after November 2007).

There's a specific warning about not turning on Numpad Commander
mode in the VoiceOver Getting Started (Leopard) Guide. There's now
an option to display Universal Access status in the menubar if you
check the option for this in the System Preferences menu for Universal
Access. Then, if you use VO-M twice, or Control-F8 to reach the status
menus in the menu bar, you can read whether Mouse Keys are off or
on.

Cheers,

Esther

Ok, something very weird and annoying is going on here. I can't use
my command keys or something. When I try to select all with command
a, it just says a. When I try to Copy, it does nothing. This is true
on the web as well as in Text Edit. I really need this resolved as
soon as possible as this will affect my job tomorrow if it's not.
Thanks in advance for any help. No clue why it all of a sudden
started doing this. I even shut it down with the power button so it
would return to the previous settings and it still continued.
