My apologies. I thought he wanted a software recorder. I'm looking for a mini disk recorder, to use for recording live music, with audience in the club where I work. I then want to transfer these files tne have them to play on my computer for critiquing to improve the sound quality coming off our stage. I'm not worried about price; however, I'm not to spend no more than $300 for such a unit, as my wife is trying to save up so that we can start paying our bills online. She's so much better at budgeting than I. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.

The Levelstar products have a great portable audio recorder. Though the Mac doesn't recognize the products as an external drive, it can see them as an SMB shared server.

Hello Richard, how are you doing?

I hope all is well.

While that is a great idea, I would like a portable recorder, that I can actually take with me to place to place. I want to be able to upload the files on my mac afterwards.

Audacity will do what you want, and it's free. Do a Google search, and in the Search Edit, type Audacity for theMac. That will take you to the site where you can find this software recorder. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.
