Partitioner

Hi,

I tried backing up to my disk, and it told me to back up and erase the  
disk first. Then, I thought, is there not a way to partition using  
Terminal. Well, is there? Or is there a free partitioner that I can  
use? I don't really mind if it isn't VO friendly at this point.
