I got the authendication dialog just fine. It just took a while to generate the spoken menus as you ention.
I think there are some new selections in the podcast settings tab but cannot be sure. That wouldn't affect the nano as far as spoken menus though. I looked through the items and didn't find anything except the rotate and cover flow.
