Look, it's simple, it works, why go breaking things. I understand
folks like flexibility, but you know honestly, it works, you can lock
those keys as needed, or just hold them down. Unless you have a
physical limitation, holding those keys can be as easy as resting your
fingers on them. Apple gave us the number pad as the alternative and
you can damn near program most all VO commands to any of those keys.
If it's that much an issue, setup the keypad with the keys you most
commonly use and use the VO-keys for those functions you don't
generally use.
