Hello there:
That does not sound strange coming from a blind person. I use my video
camera quite often.
I am operating from the premise that you were able to use the camera
and now you cannot? if that is the case, part of your answer may
depend upon remembering what were you doing before you noticed the
camera not doing what it is supposed to be doing.
You could open Ichat and run the connection doctor found in the video
menu to see what it says or check any of the preferences of programs
which could utilize the camera.
Hopefully that provides you with a few places to start.

Hi good people.
Ok, so here i am, enjoying my shiny new Imac, when all of a sudden
the computer decides that it doesn't have a builtin camera
connected, although i know it has. I can't video chat, take photos
etc.
Now this may sound strange coming from a blind person, but i just
want to make sure everything works as it should, so what could be
the problem? Is there any check i can do to help restore the camera?
Thanks.
