John, question, when I interact with the events table, I first set the
popup to audio events, and then I went to the table. I selected
message received, but the only choices I had was bounce the icon dock
once and play the sound. I saw no option for speaking the message etc.
This is Adium version 1.3.2, which I assume is the most recent version.

Hi Scott,
Yes, the unknown area has both sent and received messages. You
will need to be sure you have dom navigation turned on, as if you
have it set to groups, you will not see all of the messages. For
the Events area, it is a table you must interact with and expand to
find the events you want to add voice or sound alerts for.

THanks John, what was throwing me off is the unknown area had my
message I typed in it. I guess both send and receive messages show
in that area? I'll check the options again, I must have missed that
as an event.

Hi Scott,
The unknown is the area where incoming messages are shown. You
need to interact with that area. Also, you can set Adium to
read incoming messages automatically. This is done in the Events
tab in Adium preferences.

Folks, trying this Adium program out. The one thing I'm not
completely certain of is where the incoming chat messages appear.
Is this the text box after the unknown? Is there a way to have
Adium speak the text chats as they come in> in?
Sorry, just trying to get a handle on this while doing a million
other tasks at once. I need to clone myself.
