Hello;  I'm one of the unlucky few who has had 
trouble with the update.  Mine keeps saying that 
I need to reset my computer by holding down the 
power button.  I'm taking mine to the apple store 
tomorrow.  Wish me luck.  I've had much better 
luck with my macbook than I ever did with my 
windows notebooks, so I really hope it isn't 
anything major to fix.  Good luck to all of you,

ICal helper is a function of ICal which alerts you to items /
appointments in your calendar by bringing up a window with the
particular event shown in it.

  So, as I have ICal synced with my calendar in my phone, I'll get
ICal helper coming up from time to time letting me know of upcoming
events / appointments and such.

  this is normal behavior and you might want to check your calendar
to see if anything is set to alert you.
