Has the update given you back a copy of ICal? What does the alert say when it comes up? YOu may need to interact with the calendar area in the window to read it.Smiles, CQ :) On Dec 17, 2008, at 5:08 PM, jeffrey greene wrote:Hi Cara, thanks for that info. The thing is I never use i-cal so why is it coming up now. Before 10.5.6 i had removed i-cal to save disc space. Regards, Jeff Greene Original message:Hi Jeffery, this probably has nothing to do with the update. The ICal helper is a function of ICal which alerts you to items / appointments in your calendar by bringing up a window with the particular event shown in it.So, as I have ICal synced with my calendar in my phone, I'll get ICal helper coming up from time to time letting me know of upcoming events / appointments and such.this is normal behavior and you might want to check your calendar to see if anything is set to alert you.HTH and have an awesome evening!Smiles,Cara :)On Dec 17, 2008, at 2:42 PM, jeffrey greene wrote:Hi guys, I updated my mbp to 10.5.6 and something wierd keeps happening. Usually when online the mac suddenly says ical helper and vo-arrow keys go beep. I hit command w or q and nothing happens. I hit command tab and go back to safari and my mbp acts like nothing ever happened. I repaired permissions and it still happens. Hello; I'm one of the unlucky few who has had
trouble with the update. Mine keeps saying that
I need to reset my computer by holding down the
power button. I'm taking mine to the apple store
tomorrow. Wish me luck. I've had much better
luck with my macbook than I ever did with my
windows notebooks, so I really hope it isn't
anything major to fix. Good luck to all of you,
