Yeah, I think part of the problem was is that after fighting to get some support from Apple, the developer working on Apple Accessibility API integration took another job and stopped working on the problem.
Meanwhile, Mozilla's understandably been more focused on getting ARIA into a workable state and improving JAWS integration.
That emphasis doesn't mean there aren't underlying problems that make Apple Accessibility integration hard.
