air port

Hi everyone. Well, I really am beginning to wonder if I may have a bad  
air port card in this mac mini, I'venever heard of a mac having one of  
these, but it's certainly possible I guess. I don't have a wireless  
network here, but wanted to make sure it worked in case I would need  
it at some point. When I look at the status menu for air port, it says  
not configured and it's dimed. When I go to network preferences, the  
services listed are ethernet, fire wire, and blue tooth. So, I added  
the airport service, although it called it air port 2 for some reason.  
Once the service was added, I selected the button to turn air port on,  
but it still indicated that air port was off. Does anyone have any  
idea what might be happening here? Did I miss something obvious?
