Dear All,
I ran Onyx yesterday and received a message from the application that
my startup volume needed to be repaired and that I should restart my
computer from the disk and go to disk utilities.
The following happened:
1. I inserted the disk and started the computer while holding the
letter C down. The computer booted but proceeded to install Leopard
again. try as I might, I couldn't get out of the situation, and
worried I might damage the whole thing, I felt compelled to continue
with reinstalling the operating system. Well, it took hours and hours
late into the night. (You don't want to know how I feel this morning.
Smile)
2. Did I make a mistake? Was there a way of booting from the disk
without installing the OS again and as suggested by Onyx going to disk
utilities? I also noticed that when installing the OS I got a
different voice in Voiceover not Alex.
If you could shed any light on this event in case I have to do it
again, I would appreciate.
I wonder whether my startup volume had a problem because I had been
fiddling with Fusion.
With best wishes
Simon
