I don't have this problem. It may just be an issue of the algorithm they use. I know I have used a program like 10 times in a row, but it doesn't show up, and I would use another program and it shows up after two time. (Both non MS.)Hi all,
As I wrote earlier, I'm writing a book for the SMB market for Windows, Mac, and Linux to show that open source software and other alternative software choices are "good enough" for most people. I'm using OO to write the book and I came across this one issue that I thought OO might want to know.
I changed the settings of the XP SP2 Task Bar so that it would show all of the programs that I've used recently. Since I'm comparing Word with OO I found that Word does show up in the Most Recent apps but OO does NOT show under the Start menu. Just another M$ "feature."

You can also intentionally pin a program to the start menu. Or, something else I have done, you can right click on a program that is in the recently used group and select remove and a new program will show up. Do this until what you want is there and then run it from there and it should stay.
