What I hate is the people that think they know everything - Telling someone
that wants to learn and
possibly improve the software, the question wasn't phrased just right is just
wrong. I think a
Google Search for Tab Deliminated info will result in 444,000 English hits.
Enough for me to know
that Tab Deliminated is the Right Choice of words for the question.

Thanks Lar for asking the question.

I have been using "Deliminated" files since as long as I have been using a
computer. I started with
databases 19 years ago and used tab deliminated files to transfer data (comma
deliminated files
would not work due to the date having a
comma in it making the columns and headings not line up).

Although this rant does not help you with importing a Tab Deliminated file - I
hope you feel better
about asking the question and hope you find someone that knows what they are
talking about verses a
the person who originally responed to your question.

Thanks
Doug Pyatt

That's what I mean a table where the columns are delimited by tabs. This
is also know as tab delimited.

.txt has been an extension to indicate a text file. Some of these text
files contain a table where the data is organized in columns which are
delimited by tabs. Around 5 years ago, I also saw a fair number of these
labeled with the .tab file name extension. Most (all?) spreadsheets and
databases that I saw from 1985-1999 saved this kind of file with the .txt
extension.

I don't have old copies of or even my old manuals from Visicalc, Lotus
1-2-3, Quattro, Qubecalc, MS-Excel4 & 5, etc. so I can't cite specifics,
but I think you understand what Frank is requesting.
