Definately stand-alone capable. A must.
Having it integrate with PIM apps (like thunderbird) would give us the
added benefit of being able to tell people that "we may not have our
own e-mail app, however we have excellent integration capabilities
with [name your app] and offer excellent PIM capability enhancements
that other office suites don't have."
I think this should be a 'pluggable' type thing. some API or something
or other that allows us to integrate with more than just thunderbird
(like say evolution).

A must have - document organization in tree based keynote like
interface from within a OOo app.
A would love to have (extremely useful, uncommon feature, if it exists
at all) - additional note taking ability and keeping notes in a
document and then linking to those from one location.
