Technically, it hasn't been removed from the interface as the check
box is still in the options, it just has no functionality. :)
well, ok, it most probably will be removed in 2.0 final :)
Yeah, one of the big issues to me is the hard hazard way they cut out
the feature. They removed the functunality, but left a shadow that makes
the finished product appear unfinished.
