Each month I make a new set of .pdf's for our company's website and 
to email. Just simple stuff. I save them in OO.o format, then export 
as pdf. That way, when something changes, I just edit the OO.o 
document and re-export the .pdf. This just seemed the way to do it. 
Granted, it's two documents, but it means I have a backup, too. I 
don't know if this makes it less of an issue, but it's an easy 
workaround.
