Scribus does seem interesting, but I am curious as to how people ended up with MS-Publisher in the first place. The main closed source tools would be PageMaker, Quark, FrameMaker, or InDesign.

What does scribus do better or worse that other open source tools like LaTeX or OOo Draw? I have been able to do a lot with OOo Draw, but would like to be able to link text frames / boxes.
