There was a time, before we upgraded our computers (Macs) at work that I was
using 4 different versions of MSO. MS Office 98 for Mac on one computer, MSO
2001 for Mac on another, MSO XP for Windows at home, and MSO 2003 for
Windows at home, (I had both at one time as I was making the transistion). I
never had a sngle problem other than fonts transfer files from one to
another. And the reason I had font problems is because I used Mac-only fonts
is some of my documents. We now use MSO 2004 for Mac at work, and still, no
problems.

Compare that experience to Adobe Pagemaker, which is still giving me
problems transfering from one version to another and/or to InDesign. Even on
the same computer!

I know YMMV, and others have had completely different experiences - but I,
for one, have never had any problems with transfering files from one version
of MSO to another.
