No, sorry again. Please remember to not take this personally, but
"think you've seen" my foot. I have been *personally* told *here* to
contribute or shut up, I have *my* requests of support for Evolution
ignored for years now. And I *see* the same things happen regularly in
almost every FOSS forum I'm on: mutt, KOffice, AbiWord, procmail,
fedora, mandrake when I was using it, ubuntu-lite and many others. I
have only *mentioned* OOo and Evolution here because I'm sure
everybody on this list knows what those two programs are.
Ah, you have met the famous "developer's politeness"! :)
I tried to correct it too when I could, but it's a die hard defect...
In another message to you I've explained what I mean for "contribution"
and how common users may actively contribute without particular
skills or time available, according to me, so I hope you understand we
are not on very different position.
Gianluca
Gianluca, this answer is normal, and I guess that is the answer you are
going to get from every open source component. Open source is a
meritocracy so managers and technologist are not really considerate unless
they are actually doing something.
Like the adage says, ideas cost 1 cent per million...
So your opinion are heard but not really mean that they will follow them,
because we get this everyday several times a day and it really doesnt
matter if we follow or not, we will still get more. So ideas and comments
are not really helpful at this moment.
If you want to really contribute with just ideas, then please join the
tester team and follow their guidelines. Create consistent reports that
are actually helpful.
