As do I.  OpenDocument has little to do with Google's business plan.
Offering a good, working, free and/or ad-supported office suite has a lot to
do with Google's business plan.

Plus Google employees dozens if not hundreds of coders (including at least 2
specifically assigned to OpenOffice.org) - and they now own Writely (which
as has been pointed out, supports OpenDocument).  I'm sure if they wanted to
- they could ad OpenDocument support to just about anything they bought.
