Exactly. Writely is a service. Blogger is a service. Hello is a service. These are things Google buys. > If Google wanted a > > downloadable office suite - they'd use OpenOffice.org. > > Surely you are not that daft Chad. WikiCalc is a product that runs on a > server and serves web pages. OOo doesn't do that. Anyone with the skill > can use WikiCalc to setup a web-based spreadsheet. Did you *read* the sentence you tore apart? let me type it slower for you.... If (that's a hypotethical) Google (the company we are talking about) wanted (desired, sought after) a downloadable (meaning, like Wikicalc, AbiWord, OpenOffice.org, or a thousand other programs - you have to download and install something for it to work ----- the OPPOSITE of an online service like Writely, Blogger, iRows, etc.) office suite (like Koffice, OpenOffice.org, or Microsoft Office) - they'd (they would - they being Google) use (utilize) OpenOffice.org (a downloadable office suite - one that Google already supports with programmers, one you have to download and install to work). Daniel - you are losing it. You said exactly what I said - only you were yelling it back at me instead of agreeing with me. WikiCalc - you have to download and install. OpenOffice.org - you have to download and install. Which is better? OpenOffice.org - if for no other reason that it exists. On the other hand - Writely - no installation - it runs in your browser. Blogger - no installation, it runs in your browser. iRows - no installation - it runs in your browser. Why on earth would you suggest Google use some alpha pre-release ugly program you have to download instead of a web based existant and running program that looks and feels like stuff they've already bought? And then - after I point out a reason why another program would be better than the one you suggested - you yell at me for not knowing how different the second one I suggested is from the first one I suggested, when I just suggested it because it was better than the one you suggested (which is completely different from my orginial suggestion) at doing what your suggestion does. Please read what I write before commenting.
