No - I want them to try reading the thread before telling me something *I
ALREADY SAID* in the thread, and telling me like I didn't know. I want
people to not talk down to me like I'm an idiot - when they are the clueless
ones. I want people to READ. This is email - we are confined to text and
stupid emoticons - if you are going to participate in this form of
communication you HAVE TO F'ING READ. If you aren't going to read - then
don't reply. This is the third time I've had to explain a very simple
concept in this same thread - and I'm just repeating myself. because people
refuse to read my whole email It's maddening! They just look at part of
the email and hit reply - or they just read one email, out of the context of
the thread (which, again, ended 5 damn days ago) and decide they need to
"inform" me of something I already said in the thread - like it's news to
me.

Ignorance I can tolerate. Idiocy I hate. Sam has been on mailing lists
longer than I have. He knows how they work. He knows that you have to
follow the thread to understand what someone is saying. He also knows that
if a thread has been dead for almost a week - there's no need to reply. And
yet - he decides to jump in there and basically call me an idiot because I
"didn't know" something (Google employs OOo coders) that I mentioned
directly eariler in the thread. And I quote: " OpenOffice.org (a
downloadable office suite - one that Google already supports with
programmers". If Sam had bothered to read the thread - he'd know that. In
fact, he probably *did* read the thread - *and* knew I said that - but since
I marginallized his pet project of ODF - he wanted to piss me off - which he
did.

So is informing yourself to the facts before making an ass of yourself by
talking down to people and telling them things they already know. So is
reading the thread before replying to it.

It's a mood I get into when people treat me like an idiot and tell me things
I already know - and have, in fact, stated clearly in the same thread that
they are lately replying to.
