There is still no indication of the version of OOo that is being used
or on what platform. Any way... That above snippet is not really
enough information to work out exactly what happened.  What is meant
by 'secret ID's' - how were these made secret in the excel file? Were
they cell entries? Were cells removed? Were individual cells protected
and it was this protection that was removed by Calc? What is the
definition of program range name? Calc wont modify an existing formula
cell range - so its unclear as to what is meant.

I cann't see the Mabel's email address to cc her in but without
further info there is not much that can be done...

I did not want to tell Mabel to subscribe to a whole lot of lists but, since you seem to think her question can be answered here, I have referred her to your message and suggested she subscribe.

I think the original document may be required and it will need to be opened by Excel as well as Calc to see what gets deleted.
