I was NOT saying that users are necessarily and always right and must
be served all time. I only said and repeat that FOSS-advocating
programmers or advanced users should really stop preaching from the
pulpit in a way (language, tone, specific arguments):

* which often assumes that people who can't program or have more
urgent and important thing to do (for society, not themselves) or no
spare money to fund anything are some sort of second-class
citizens without the right to complain. See again
http://digifreedom.net/node/56 or even http://digifreedom.net/node/57

* it won't advance FOSS another bit, and maybe is actively _hurting_
it. See my original comment on the fact that all who could be
convinced by such a way of answering have _already_ heard it.

in one sentence: what you say (the generic old-school FOSS advocate,
not necessarily jza) may be 100% right, but if you don't learn to
express it in a way that is compatible with the world and the computer
users of _today_, instead of cliches which made sense 25 years ago,
you're not going to accomplish anything meaningful in the long run.

        Marco
