I'm afraid attachments don't, for security reasons I believe, usually
make it through the mail list software. Yours didn't, so we're
'running blind'. One way round this is to put the document on a web
site, and provide the URL.

Are you running windows in some flavour? I thought all (recent)
versions had a 'start' menu. I can't vouch for the exact format under
vista, as I'm running xp. If you don't have a 'start' menu, how do
you normally start programs (if not from a desktop icon)?

>From what you say, it does sound as if you're looking at the unpacked
distribution kit. Windows has an undesirable ability to suppress file
types (.exe in this case), which is best turned off and left that
way. Do you see types (.jpg, .doc, or similar) for any other files on
the system? When you say running 'setup' (probably setup.exe in fact)
gives "an option to MODIFY the files I already have", can you say
/precisely/ what happened and what the message says please?

You can check whether the program is installed either by looking
under \Program Files, or by checking 'add or remove programs' from
control panel.

You are, btw, apparently not subscribed to this list, so won't
automatically receive answers sent to the list.

this. This query might be better addressed to the 'users' list.
