Allowing for the non-subscribed OP's (self confessed) limited English, I believe he is asking for Writer to have an MDI (Multiple Document Interface) window with tabbed child windows. Something similar to the tabs in Calc and the tabbed windows option in most modern web browsers.

For many years (March 2003) this has been an outstanding RFE (Request For Enhancement) http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=12686 which still has a "NEW" status :D So I think the prospect of seeing any progress with this in the foreseeable future is very small. :(

open office has that! i use it all the time! when you reach the bottom
and keep going it sets a new page. some of my documents are ten pages
long and have no problems and i didnt have to set up the pages either.
just scroll down is all you need it would tell you 3/4 etc

Hi,

I have a wish for the OpenOffice Writer, but as I'm French I don't know if I
will be understandable :)
As I'm writing, I wish I could work and write several pages in a single
document without having to enter many blank lines to start writing on a new
page or having to create a new document (it has to be the same document).
It would be useful to have an option which allows us to have several pages in a
same text document, and allows us to go from page to page easily like the tabs
in Firefox.
I guess you have a lot of work and it can't be a priority, but if it would be
possible to develop it one day I'd sure like it !

Thanks for reading me,
Morgane from France !
